The sequence leading to Udoka’s ejection unfolded when Rockets forward Tari Eason was fouled by Lakers wing Cam Reddish, earning Eason two free throws. Following a light bump between Reddish and Eason, a brief altercation erupted between players from both teams. Reddish received a technical foul.
As Rockets guard Fred VanVleet prepared to take the technical free throw, LeBron James and Ime Udoka engaged in a verbal exchange. Referee J.T. Orr decided to assess technical fouls to both James and Udoka due to their animated confrontation. Notably, Udoka had already received a technical foul in the second quarter, leading to his ejection from the game.
