Dak Prescott’s iconic cadence is taking the internet by storm. Even if you’re not a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, you’ve likely caught wind of it: “YEAH! HERE WE GOOOO.” The quarterback’s enthusiastic pre-snap ritual has become a viral sensation, especially after a Thanksgiving showdown where the Cowboys triumphed over the Washington Commanders.
Prescott addressed the popularity of his cadence, revealing that it serves a purpose for the team. According to him, the linemen requested a distinctive cue before the play, signaling them to cease communication and prepare for action.

When asked about the origin of the cadence, Prescott credited the coaching staff, particularly those involved in offseason preparations. He humorously mentioned that if the season started with such energy, it would be a lengthy offseason.
“We want to use the cadence to our ability,” Prescott explained. “The linemen wanted a little something before, I guess. For me, it’s to tell them stop the communicating, here we go.”
“I think it was the coaches earlier in the offseason. I was like, ‘If we’re starting off like this, it’s going to be a long offseason.’”
Introduced this season under the leadership of head coach Mike McCarthy, who assumed offensive and play-calling duties after the departure of former coordinator Kellen Moore, the “Here we go” cadence has become a signature element of the Cowboys’ success.
With their recent victory, Prescott and Dallas are in contention in the NFC East, injecting even more excitement into the NFL landscape.
