Prescott addressed the popularity of his cadence, revealing that it serves a purpose for the team. According to him, the linemen requested a distinctive cue before the play, signaling them to cease communication and prepare for action.

When asked about the origin of the cadence, Prescott credited the coaching staff, particularly those involved in offseason preparations. He humorously mentioned that if the season started with such energy, it would be a lengthy offseason.
“We want to use the cadence to our ability,” Prescott explained. “The linemen wanted a little something before, I guess. For me, it’s to tell them stop the communicating, here we go.”
“I think it was the coaches earlier in the offseason. I was like, ‘If we’re starting off like this, it’s going to be a long offseason.’”
