LeBron assumes the role of a supportive father.
On Thursday, the James family received uplifting news as Bronny James received medical clearance for a full return to basketball. The son of NBA luminary LeBron James had been sidelined from playing for USC after experiencing cardiac arrest during the summer.
Speaking about his son’s recovery, LeBron expressed his commitment to attending Bronny’s USC debut, even if it coincided with a Lakers game.
“I already told my teammates that if they play on the same day we’re playing, I’m going to have to catch them the next game,” shared LeBron James after the Lakers’ match against the Thunder. He emphasized the priority of family over everything and conveyed his determination to witness Bronny’s first game upon clearance.
A family spokesperson indicated that Bronny would undergo a final evaluation by USC’s staff before resuming practice and game participation. The schedules of the Lakers and USC intersect on six occasions, including LeBron’s birthday on December 30. On that day, the Lakers are set to face the Timberwolves, while the Trojans will be away playing Oregon State.

Expressing immense excitement for Bronny’s return to the court, LeBron acknowledged the challenging 12-week journey of recovery. He highlighted the significance of Bronny receiving clearance to resume doing what he loves – playing basketball, reuniting with teammates, and donning the USC uniform.
While it’s understandable that LeBron prioritizes being present for his son, there’s recognition that he also has professional obligations that come with being handsomely compensated for his role on the court.
