At NFL Analysis Network, Kenneth Teape proposed a massive trade that sends Giants star RB Saquon Barkley to the Chicago Bears.
The deal has the Giants receiving 2024 third and fourth-round picks as well as a 2025 second-round pick.
“Adding Barkley to a backfield with (Justin) Fields would create major headaches for opposing defensive coordinators as the Bears were the No. 1 rushing team in the NFL last season without a running back as dynamic as him. Adding Barkley, (D.J.) Moore and (Robert) Tonyan to an offense already with Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool and Cole Kmet will take the Bears to heights they haven’t approached often in the last few decades.”
The Bears are currently in line to start D’Onta Foreman at running back after letting David Montgomery go this offseason. Khalil Herbert who had 731 rushing yards for the Bears last season will also be in the mix for the RB1 job.
Nevertheless, adding Saquon Barkley to the mix would be a massive boost to the backfield. The Giants currently have until July 17 to reach a long-term deal with Barkley. If they don’t, the Giants may have little choice but to trade their star running back.
