Are the Patriots officially tuning out Bill Belichick?
The New England Patriots’ 2023 season has taken a turn for the worse.
Their defeat to Indianapolis in Germany on Sunday marked a 2-8 record for the regular season. With playoff hopes dashed, the Patriots are slated to make a top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Adding to the woes, head coach Bill Belichick is now under the shadow of accusations claiming he has “lost” control of the team’s locker room.
“There is no defense. They’re 2-8. They’re terrible,” Chris Canty said on Monday morning.
“The biggest takeaway for me is that Bill Belichick has no hope of resurrecting this program. There is no way that he can get this thing back on track. He has lost the ear of the players in the locker room.”
Speculation is rife that the Patriots will part ways with Belichick after the 2023 season.
“In talking to those who have spent time around the Patriots organization and understand the dynamics between team owner Robert Kraft and Belichick, I don’t expect anything to be determined with so much season remaining,” Dianna Russini reported on Saturday. “But if people I talk to had to bet, their money is on a mutual parting of the ways at the end of the season.”
There’s even a possibility it might happen sooner.
Despite Belichick’s historic ability to rally players regardless of results, the current situation raises doubts about the coach’s continued influence.
