In the latest twist of the ongoing and increasingly bizarre Michigan sign-stealing controversy, former staff member and central figure Connor Stalions, along with star running back Blake Corum, have been identified as co-owners of a business named Home Essentials Distribution LLC located in Wyoming.
However, when questioned about it on Tuesday, Corum expressed surprise at the supposed business venture, claiming he had just learned about it himself. He mentioned that he had already reached out to his attorneys to address the issue, as he insisted he has “no business” dealings with Stalions.
Corum stated, “I know exactly what you’re talking about. My first time hearing it was before I was walking out to practice. First of all, I have no businesses with him,” Corum said. “I don’t have any business with Connor, anything. Nothing like that. But I’m glad whoever found it, whoever was searching the web, was able to find that. I appreciate you. My attorneys are on it. They’ll definitely get that figured out right away and get my name taken off of wherever it is. Right before I went out to practice, I saw that on Twitter. But no part of that whatsoever. My attorneys are on it.”
A document circulating on social media shows Corum listed alongside Stalions and another individual as organizers of the company.
Despite Corum’s lack of awareness, Home Essentials Distribution was registered in Wyoming in March 2022, with Stalions initially listed as the organizer. The current publicly accessible documents from the state of Wyoming only mention Stalions as an organizer of the LLC.
Reports from the Wall Street Journal suggest that Stalions was operating some form of vacuum repair or sales business from his home in Ann Arbor, Michigan, leading to discontent among neighbors and disapproval from his homeowners association.
When asked about the nature of the business on Tuesday, Corum responded with good humor, saying, “Nah, that’s something I’m not really into. Vacuums aren’t my thing. I’m a clean person, but I’m not a cleaner. Vacuums aren’t my thing, so I don’t know anything about that.”
