Mike Tomlin’s Equal Opportunity Anger
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin expressed his displeasure with a particular official on Sunday.
During the game, the Steelers had a 55-yard field goal attempt nullified due to an offsides penalty on an offensive lineman.
Following the penalty, the Steelers tried a 60-yard field goal, which they missed.

An incensed Tomlin directed his frustration towards the female line judge who made the call, exclaiming, “what the heck is wrong with y’all today?”
During the Steelers’ postgame press conference, an irate Tomlin stated that he had never witnessed an offsides penalty called on an offensive lineman during a field goal attempt.
“I didn’t get much explanation; I hadn’t seen that call in the 17 years I’ve been on the sidelines—offsides on a guard during field goal protection. So, regardless of what they said, I’ve just never witnessed that.”
Tomlin is likely to receive a substantial fine from the NFL for his criticism and use of profanity towards the official.
However, it’s worth noting that his reaction would have been the same regardless of the official’s gender.
