Dwight Howard is finally addressing the ongoing situation.
The NBA star has responded to the recent sexual assault lawsuit with a more serious tone than his last response, particularly addressing those who have focused on his sexuality. In a statement shared on social media, Howard expressed his frustration with people prying into his personal life.
“Y’all can stop with the nonsense, worrying about all this bull crap. Mind your business,” Howard said in his response on social media. “Why the hell do you or anybody care who the hell I spend my time with? That’s the problem with y’all people. Y’all worrying about who people spend their time with. What I’m doing in my bedroom is my damn business.”
Howard stressed the importance of respecting privacy and urged the public to keep their own personal activities behind closed doors. He further criticized those who attempted to shame him for his alleged actions, referring to them as “weird” for obsessing over his private affairs.
The basketball star’s statement comes after he admitted to engaging in “consensual sexual activity” with a man named Stephen Harper in July 2021, as mentioned in Harper’s lawsuit. Harper had filed a complaint against Howard, alleging that he was sexually assaulted at Howard’s Georgia residence during their encounter.
Dwight Howard has vehemently denied all allegations made in Harper’s lawsuit. It’s evident that he’s found himself entangled in a complex and controversial situation, which inevitably attracts media attention, something he should anticipate and understand given his public profile.
