When exactly did Taylor and Travis Kelce cross paths?
It appears that the love story between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift may have begun in August.
In July, the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end made an attempt to get to know the pop superstar. By September 24, the two seemed to have grown close when she publicly attended one of his football games, accompanied by his mother, Donna Kelce. As Swift’s fans wondered about the timeline of their connection, Travis has provided some insight.
According to his recollection, he still had his mustache, which he unveiled at training camp on August 2, when they first met.
Acknowledging that their budding romance might inspire many couples’ Halloween costumes, Travis suggested that those wanting to dress up as him should start growing out their facial hair.
“That ‘stache and the 87 jersey was pretty iconic there for a little bit,” he said during an Oct. 20 press conference, “and I had it when I met Taylor for the first time.”
The 34-year-old athlete added that another noteworthy accessory for a costume would be a friendship bracelet. Travis initially struggled to give one to Taylor, 33, during her concert on July 7 at his team’s home stadium in Missouri.

According to the story, Travis crafted a bracelet with his number on it while attending the singer’s Eras Tour. Unfortunately, he didn’t get a chance to meet Taylor during the concert and expressed his disappointment on his New Heights podcast. “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis admitted on the July 26 episode. “So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
Two months later, an insider informed E! News that the two had met “once” in New York. The source disclosed on September 21 that they had been texting and having conversations, but it was kept low-key since Travis was in the middle of the NFL season.
On the same day, Travis took another chance. “I threw the ball in her court,” the athlete mentioned during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. “I told her, you know, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead [Stadium], you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit.'”
As if by fate, the pieces fell into place, and Taylor accepted Travis’ invitation. She showed up at his game on September 24 against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium. Subsequently, she played the role of cheer captain again at the Chiefs’ games on October 1 against the New York Jets and on October 12 against the Denver Broncos. This ignited excitement within the Swiftie fandom and the NFL community.
Who knows when we’ll see them together next?
