Bill Belichick doesn’t offer unlimited opportunities.
During an appearance on “Up & Adams” this Wednesday morning, Patriots icon Rob Gronkowski discussed the recent struggles of Mac Jones as the team’s quarterback.
Jones was replaced on Sunday after throwing two interceptions in a disheartening 38-3 loss to the Cowboys.

Gronkowski’s opinion is that Jones is walking a fine line, especially considering that Belichick has benched him twice in the past 12 months.
“He got benched last year and Bailey Zappe went in. He just got benched three days ago when they faced the Cowboys – that’s strike two ,” Gronkowski said. “If he gets benched again and makes another mistake they were going over throughout the week, that will be strike three and he will officially be out as the quarterback of the New England Patriots.”
As Jones heads into Week 5 with 898 passing yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions, it becomes crucial for him to prioritize ball security if he intends to retain his position as the starting quarterback in New England.
The Patriots will take on the Saints this Sunday at home, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
