The backlash against the inundation of Taylor Swift-related content within the NFL fan community has begun.
On Sunday, Taylor Swift and her entourage of celebrity friends made their presence felt at MetLife Stadium while attending the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the New York Jets. Every time the Chiefs achieved something positive, Swift was prominently featured.

Just 24 hours later, during the Giants vs. Seahawks game at the same stadium, fans voiced their sentiments loudly regarding the pop star. Large screens at the venue also advertised her upcoming film, “The Eras Tour,” set to hit theaters later this month, during the Monday Night Football broadcast.
The response from fans in the stands as Swift appeared on screen was unmistakable: a chorus of boos. This clear reaction illustrates that a segment of NFL fans is already becoming fatigued by the Swift-related spectacle that has become intertwined with the league in recent weeks.
Earlier in the day, the NFL was compelled to make a significant adjustment following a reference to Taylor Swift on their official social media account in the wake of her appearance on Sunday Night Football. They initially modified their Instagram profile bio to read: “Chiefs are 2-0 as Swifties,” but then removed it hours later due to fan backlash.
In Monday’s 24-3 loss to the Seahawks, Daniel Jones completed 27 of 34 passes for 203 yards and carried the ball 10 times for 66 yards. Unfortunately, he was intercepted twice, lost one fumble out of two, and endured a staggering 10 sacks.
Jones’ prime-time record dropped to 1-12 in his career, with an 0-7 mark on Monday Night Football.
Perhaps, if the Giants weren’t mired in a tumultuous season, they might have been more receptive to Taylor Swift promotions.
