A significant portion of football fans appears to be displeased with the NFL’s embrace of the recent Taylor Swift narrative, and they are beginning to express their frustrations on social media.
Jets beat reporter Brian Costello took to Twitter on Monday to share a screenshot of the NFL’s Instagram bio, which states: “chiefs are 2-0 as swifties.” He remarked, “This is not a good look for the NFL. Such actions only fuel conspiracy theories.”
Others joined in criticizing the league within Costello’s mentions.
“I don’t think it’s a conspiracy theory. How else can you explain it? The league is clearly prioritizing profit over the Jets. It’s disgraceful,” one user responded.
“Blatantly unfair decisions on sauce and a complete lack of action on Jermaine,” another user stated.
“I often wonder how some ideas manage to get approved,” tweeted Connor Hughes.
“I’m finding it hard to imagine a better time to be a Chiefs fan,” commented John Kurtz.
“Such an unusual league.”
It remains to be seen whether the NFL’s extensive focus on Taylor Swift will result in any backlash. Only time will reveal the impact of this approach.
