Federal agents had their sights on AJ Brown following his standout performance of the season.
Philadelphia Eagles star Brown delivered an explosive performance during the team’s Week 4 triumph over the Washington Commanders. Brown left the Washington secondary in tatters with an incredible display, amassing nine catches for 175 yards and scoring two touchdowns.

The Eagles relied heavily on his performance, as they needed every bit of it to secure a hard-fought 34-31 victory over the Commanders, even needing overtime.
Immediately after the game, the NFL subjected the multi-time Pro Bowl receiver, Brown, to what appeared to be a “random” drug test. According to Josh Tolentino of the Philly Inquirer, Brown was chosen for this test right after arriving at his locker room following the game.
Brown is widely recognized as one of the most dynamic and physically fit players in the league, potentially making him more susceptible to “random” testing than the average player.
Adding intrigue to the timing of the test, which seemed oddly coincidental after Brown’s explosive game, there may have been more to the story. Just a few days earlier, Brown had publicly voiced strong opposition to an NFL rule. It raises the possibility that this “random” test could be the league’s subtle response to his recent outspokenness.
