Chicago is facing a series of challenges as the 2023 NFL season unfolds. The Chicago Bears are off to a rocky start, standing at 0-3 with a daunting 13-game losing streak as they approach Week 4 against the Denver Broncos. Additionally, their quarterback, Justin Fields, is struggling in his early performances. Adding to the turmoil, defensive coordinator Alan Williams unexpectedly resigned after just 18 games in the role.
The future of the Bears remains uncertain, with head coach Matt Eberflus having only won three out of his last 20 games. General manager Ryan Poles is also facing ongoing scrutiny for assembling what is perceived as one of the NFL’s weakest rosters.

These developments are occurring approximately nine months after former Big 10 Commissioner Kevin Warren assumed the role of Chicago’s president in January, succeeding Ted Phillips.
According to a report by Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post, there is growing speculation that Warren may contemplate a major overhaul of the entire Bears organization in response to the current challenges in the Windy City.
“There is a growing suspicion that team president Kevin Warren has seen enough to realize another reboot is in order,” report on Chicago Bears situation.
“Kevin has seen enough to clean it out,” one unnamed general manager told La Canfora. “It’s my understanding that he has the power to do it, and the coach and GM can’t go around him to ownership.”
Entering his second season as the Bears’ general manager, it seems unlikely that Poles will be replaced. However, the turmoil in Chicago may push Warren towards the radical choice of a complete overhaul in the not-too-distant future.
This unfolds against the backdrop of a recent report indicating that the leadership in Chicago has reservations about Fields as their long-term solution at quarterback.
