Diego Pavia finds himself in a situation demanding explanation.
Tensions have escalated in the rivalry between New Mexico State University and the University of New Mexico following the emergence of a purported video depicting a disturbing act involving NMSU’s quarterback.
Albuquerque’s NBC affiliate, KOB 4, initially reported on the incident and shared a video allegedly showing Aggie quarterback Diego Pavia urinating on the Lobo practice field. This incident purportedly occurred before the Aggies faced off against the Lobos in their recent rivalry game.
The individual filming the video can be heard enthusiastically cheering Pavia on, exclaiming, “Yeah, 10!”—a reference to Pavia’s jersey number.
In an unexpected twist, Pavia went on to lead the Aggies to a 27-17 victory over the Lobos.
Both universities have initiated investigations into the matter.
Diego Pavia, an Albuquerque native, is currently in his second season at NMSU.
Up to this point, Pavia has remained silent regarding the situation. He participated in last weekend’s game against Hawaii, completing 9-of-15 pass attempts for 155 yards and securing two touchdowns. Additionally, he rushed for 97 yards.
The team currently holds a 2-3 record for the season and is on a bye week. They are scheduled to return to action on October 4th when they host FIU.
