The NFL is investigating an accusation made by Sauce Gardner, a cornerback for the Jets, that Patriots quarterback Mac Jones delivered a low blow during their game on Sunday, as reported by Pro Football Talk.
This purported incident occurred in the fourth quarter, following a tackle by Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley on Jones, who was attempting a quarterback sneak. Subsequently, Jones rose to his feet and confronted Gardner.

“That’s probably the first time that ever happened to me,” Gardner said after the game. “He got tackled, and he reached his hand up to get me to help him up, and I just moved his hand out of the way.
“But then he got up and he just came up to me [saying], like, ‘Good job.’ But while he’s saying that, he hit me in my private parts.”
Gardner expressed his surprise, saying, “I definitely wasn’t expecting that. First time for everything, I guess… He’s trying to prevent me from having kids in the future.”
Following the encounter, the 23-year-old Gardner pushed Jones, causing him to fall back to the ground, but the situation did not escalate further.

Jones attempted to minimize the incident in the aftermath of the game, which ended in a 15-10 victory for New England.
“Just football. I think it’s a physical game and at that point in the game, you just have to fight to get the one yard,” the third-year quarterback said. “I was just trying to get the first down. … A lot of guys on both teams are in there and it definitely can get pretty physical in there.”
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the Patriots’ quarterback has faced allegations of unsportsmanlike conduct.
In 2021, Jones was involved in an incident where he grabbed Brian Burns by the ankle and twisted him down after the Panthers’ defensive end executed a strip-sack.
During Week 7 of the 2022 season, Jones was seen kicking his leg out and upwards, seemingly targeting the midsection of Bears safety Jaquan Brisker.
Mac Jones is certainly establishing a reputation for himself.
