Charlie Axel Woods is carrying on the legacy of his legendary father, Tiger Woods.
In an impressive display of skill, the 14-year-old Charlie secured a spot in the Notah Begay III National Championship after emerging victorious in the second round of the 14-15 age division during the Last Chance Regional. Notably, he received some assistance from his golfing icon father.
Tiger, at 47 years old, took on the role of caddy for his son during the second round, creating a special and memorable moment for the father and son duo.

Following his victory, Charlie expressed his appreciation for having his father’s support on the golf course, describing it as “great.” He shared, “We just stay in our own little world,” highlighting the unique bond they share while Tiger caddied for him.
“We take it one shot at a time,” Charlie continued, adding that his dad “puts me in my place” from time to time. “I’ll talk about the next tee shot and he’s like, ‘No. This is the shot we’re going to focus on. Focus up. This is what we’re gonna do.’”
Next up, Charlie is set to compete at Koasati Pines at Coushatta Casino Resort in Louisiana, with the tournament slated for November 4-6.
The heartwarming moment shared by Tiger and his son Charlie resonated with not just the Woods family but also with Charlie’s fellow competitors. Shane Croft, whose son Chase participated in the Sunday event, took to Instagram to describe the experience as nothing short of “epic,” as he had the unique opportunity to caddy alongside Tiger.
“Ok, EPIC would in no way be a big enough word to describe today,” Croft wrote.
He added, “Honestly, there is no way to express what this was like. Four hours one-on-one with Charlie and Tiger was just unreal. Can’t even thank Ryan Burr enough for orchestrating this entire day. His tournament is so professionally run. Just next-level junior golf. Anyway, this will be a story my family talks about on my deathbed one day. And it will be a proud moment for sure.”
“Charlie clearly loves the times he spends with his dad on the golf course,” a source told PEOPLE in 2020. “It’s a definite bonding activity for the two of them.”
Tiger and Charlie had their inaugural public golf outing in 2020. Reflecting on the experience after their first tournament together, Tiger expressed his feelings about having his son by his side.
“I don’t think words can describe it,” he told reporters in a PGA Tour video. “Just the fact that we were able to have this experience together, Charlie and I. It’s memories for a lifetime.”
Charlie already possesses remarkable skills with a golf club, but Tiger has been explicit in emphasizing that his son is “his own person” and is free to forge his own path in life.
“I’m proud of whatever direction he chooses, whether he sticks with the game or not,” he said in an interview with PGA. “That’s one of the things that we made sure of. That Charlie was Charlie.”
