Shannon Sharpe never holds back on his humor and strong opinions.
In the wake of Aaron Rodgers’s season-ending Achilles injury, there has been a great deal of scrutiny surrounding the performance of Jets quarterback Zach Wilson.
During the Jets’ 30-10 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday, Wilson threw for 170 yards, completing 12 out of 27 passes, with one touchdown pass and three interceptions. This only added to the narrative that New York is a weaker team without Rodgers. Wilson’s performance followed a 14-for-21 effort for 140 yards with one TD pass and one interception in his relief appearance for Rodgers during a season-opening win against the Bills.

ESPN’s Shannon Sharpe joined the conversation on Monday morning, offering a spirited take on the Jets’ third-year quarterback.
“You’re not gonna win with him. Dude couldn’t play dead in a horror movie,” Sharpe exclaimed on First Take. “How many scenes do you need to see? I’ve seen all the Friday the 13th’s. I’ve seen all the Nightmare on Elm Streets. … You’ve got to come to the realization he is what he is.”
The Jets struggled to muster a mere 215 yards of total offense against the Cowboys, who boast one of the league’s premier defenses. Unfortunately for the Jets, their upcoming schedule does not offer much respite.
New York is set to face the Patriots in an AFC East showdown on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, followed by matchups against the Chiefs, Broncos, and Eagles.
