Not such good vibrations for Chandler Jones and the Las Vegas Raiders.
Las Vegas Raiders pass-rusher Chandler Jones publicly addressed owner Mark Davis on X, formerly known as Twitter, regarding his absence from the team. In his tweet, Jones expressed a desire for Mark Davis to share the real reasons behind his inability to play.
Jones had been made inactive for the previous weekend’s game against the Denver Broncos after posting and subsequently deleting critical remarks about the Raiders organization on Instagram. These posts included negative comments about head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler. Jones had also claimed that he was locked out of the team’s facilities and had to resort to working out at a local gym. Additionally, he threatened to reveal information about McDaniels.
The situation escalated when Jones stated that the Raiders sent a member of the Las Vegas crisis response team to his home, informing him that he was in danger.

McDaniels had initially referred to Jones’ situation as a “private matter” leading up to the game.
In Jones’ absence, rookie Tyree Wilson, the seventh overall draft pick, saw increased playing time alongside Pro Bowler Maxx Crosby during the last game, registering one tackle.
Chandler Jones joined the Raiders last year on a three-year, $51 million contract in free agency, following six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. Throughout his career, spanning 154 regular-season games with the New England Patriots, Cardinals, and Raiders, Jones has accumulated 112 sacks, ranking him 26th on the official NFL all-time list and 37th on the unofficial list.
Jones is a four-time Pro Bowler, two-time first-team All-Pro, and was the runner-up in the 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting when he led the league with a career-high 19 sacks. Last season, he played in all 15 games, recording 4.5 sacks, which marked a career-low for a season in which he played more than five games.
Assuming Jones remains inactive for the upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills, Wilson and Crosby are expected to receive the majority of playing time as pass-rushers.
