Pat McAfee is facing some criticism for his expressing his opinion.
Kadarius Toney, the wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, redirected his attention from Giants fans to Pat McAfee after a rough Week 1 performance. Toney briefly went silent on social media after the game but returned to take a jab at his former team following the Chiefs’ 40-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Toney seemed to take issue with a segment on McAfee’s show discussing his social media activity, and he didn’t mince words in his response. He accused McAfee of talking as if he knew everything, adding, “You’re just another goofy … Chill.”
McAfee had previously questioned Toney’s “injury” when he couldn’t play for the Giants before being traded to Kansas City last season. On Tuesday, McAfee noted that someone deleting their social media accounts usually indicates a bad day at work.
While McAfee acknowledged that he respects anyone taking a break from social media to avoid negativity, he found it amusing that Toney returned just to mock Giants fans.
He also praised Toney as a “real game-changer” and stressed that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs need him to perform well.
It remains to be seen if McAfee will take on the persona of Goofy in the near future. As for Toney, he has an opportunity to silence critics with a strong performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
