During Friday night’s game between the Oakland Athletics and the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field, two women were injured by gunfire.
Surprisingly, the game continued without interruption, resulting in a strange and perplexing situation that garnered much speculation about the source of the bullets.
However, recent developments suggest that the shooter must have been located inside the stadium.

ESPN Chicago’s Peggy Kusinski added another twist to the story with a tweet revealing that one of the wounded women had managed to sneak the gun into the stadium by concealing it in her belly fat.
As I reported on @ESPN1000 just now… the shooting at Guaranteed Rate Field during a #WhiteSox game was indeed an accidental discharge by one of the women “grazed” by the bullet. She reportedly snuck the gun in past metal detectors hiding it in the folds of her belly fat.

Although it may seem unbelievable, an accidental discharge appears to be the most plausible explanation.
The details of this incident are perhaps too bizarre for anyone to anticipate.
Moreover, it is alarming to note that metal detectors at MLB games can be easily bypassed by someone willing to hide a loaded firearm in their private areas.
The Chicago White Sox season has been far from dull. One can only wonder what will unfold next.
