Trey Lance’s career is receiving a much-needed boost as he makes the move from San Francisco to Dallas after two seasons.
Upon his arrival at the Cowboys facility on Tuesday, the former No. 3 pick expressed his excitement about the trade.
According to Clarence Hill Jr., Lance received a warm welcome from Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, and he is eager to learn from him. Lance’s eyes lit up when he learned he was being traded to the Cowboys.
“Trey Lance says he got a warm welcome from Cowboys QB Dak Prescott and he is excited to learn everything from him. He said his ‘eyes lit up’ when he was told he was being traded to Cowboys.”

The San Francisco 49ers made a significant investment to acquire Lance in the 2021 draft, but various factors, including injuries and mismanagement, have hindered his progress.
Before joining the league, Lance had limited playing experience coming out of North Dakota State.
Despite being viewed as a developmental quarterback on a win-now roster, Lance may struggle to find substantial playing time in Dallas due to Prescott’s leadership of the offense.
Nevertheless, the situation in Big D has become intriguing.
