Be careful what you wish for.
Monday marked the return of Undisputed on FS1, now fully owned by Skip Bayless.
The show made a significant change by replacing Shannon Sharpe with a trio of Richard Sherman, Keyshawn Johnson, and Michael Irvin.
As the opening sequence played, featuring a new Lil Wayne song, the cameras focused on Bayless sitting alone at a table with empty chairs.
With the responsibility of getting viewers excited, Bayless wasted no time in pounding tables and shouting passionately.

However, he quickly became out of breath, as his enthusiasm was evident.
He even claimed it was the “best morning of his career.” After his two-minute opening statement, Bayless introduced his co-hosts awkwardly as they joined the set.
Both Johnson and Irvin hinted at the challenges they faced to join FOX.
The conversation then turned to the Dallas Cowboys trading for Trey Lance, and predictably, the discussion descended into a lot of shouting, typical of Undisputed’s return. Bayless even had trouble getting in a word with the new crew he’s assembled.

Bayless’ opening display may have been excessive, but his genuine enthusiasm is undeniable.
From the previous 1A/1B setup with Sharpe, he now dominates the Undisputed universe, with his co-hosts revolving around him.
The show will undoubtedly take on Bayless’ personality fully, with no Sharpe present.
The future outcomes of this change remain uncertain, but for now, Bayless considers it the best morning of his career, although it may not stay that way in the long run.
