Angels player Shohei Ohtani is having an exceptional season, performing both as a designated hitter and a pitcher.
He boasts impressive stats with a .305/.408/.665 slash line, 44 home runs, and 91 RBIs.
On the mound, he has a 10-5 record, 167 strikeouts, and a 3.14 ERA.
Unfortunately, Ohtani suffered a torn UCL after a recent game against the Reds, forcing the Angels to end his pitching duties for the rest of the season.
However, he will continue to contribute as a hitter.
This injury raises concerns about his upcoming free agency. Angels general manager Perry Minasian revealed that Ohtani had refused an MRI after experiencing finger cramping in August.
Perry Minasian just revealed that the Angels offered to do an MRI on Ohtani’s arm after his cramping episode earlier this month and Ohtani and his agent refused because they didn’t think it was necessary.

This incident has exposed a rare public disagreement between Ohtani and the team. Ohtani’s plans for after the season remain undisclosed.
