ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith recently made a false claim about Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball’s knee condition, stating that it was difficult for him to get up from a sitting position.
“I’ve heard that it’s even hard for him to get up from the sitting position,” Smith said about Ball’s persistent knee issue. Obviously that’s a troubling report for an NBA player who makes a living running and jumping.
However, Ball proved the report wrong in a video he posted on social media, demonstrating his ability to perform one-legged squats on his injured leg.
“Stephen A., who are your sources bro?” Ball said in the video while doing squats. “Please tell me who your sources are. C’mon man. C’mon man, you gotta stop yapping. And I actually like you man, I don’t even know you like that, but I like you. I’m coming back man!”

He questioned Smith’s sources and expressed his admiration for the commentator while emphasizing his determination to make a comeback.
Despite Ball’s optimism, his return is unlikely to occur this season, as Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations, Arturas Karnisovas, has previously stated that the expectation is for Ball to continue his recovery and not play next season.
Nevertheless, everyone hopes to see Ball back in the league in the future.
