This week, a surprising revelation surfaced regarding NFL offensive lineman Michael Oher, who claims that the Tuohy Family deceived him into signing a conservatorship agreement.
ESPN’s Michael A. Fletcher recently documented Oher’s 14-page petition in Shelby County, Tennessee, where he alleges that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy manipulated him into signing a document that appointed them as his conservators, granting them legal power to conduct business on his behalf.
Oher claims in his petition that while he was still in high school, he began living with the Tuohy family.

However, it is important to mention that an excerpt from Oher’s 2011 memoir, titled “I Beat the Odds: From Homelessness to The Blind Side and Beyond,” indicates that Oher was aware of the Tuohys assuming responsibility for his conservatorship via Outkick.
“It kind of felt like a formality, as I’d been a part of the family for more than a year at that point. Since I was already over the age of eighteen and considered an adult by the state of Tennessee, Sean and Leigh Anne would be named as my ‘legal conservator’.
“They explained to me that it means pretty much the exact same thing as ‘adoptive parents. But that the laws were just written in a way that took my age into account. Honestly, I didn’t care what it was called. I was just happy that no one could argue that we weren’t legally what we already knew was real: We were a family.”
The petition further alleges that the Tuohys profited from the 2009 film, The Blind Side, while Michael Oher did not receive any compensation for his involvement.
However, lawyers representing the Tuohys assert that both the Tuohy family and Oher were paid $100,000 each for their contributions to the film.
The movie, “The Blind Side,” was adapted from Michael Lewis’ 2006 book titled “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game.”
The book primarily revolves around Oher, making him a central character. In the film, Quinton Aaron portrayed Oher, while Sandra Bullock portrayed Leigh Anne, and Tim McGraw portrayed Sean.
Each member of the Tuohy family – including Michael Oher – received $100,000 from the profits of “The Blind Side,” the family’s attorneys said Wednesday.

At the age of 37, Oher was selected by the Ravens in the first round of the 2009 draft.
He had a successful tenure with the team, earning a Super Bowl 47 championship ring in the 2012 season. Additionally, he had short periods of time with the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers in his football career.
