Unfortunately, allegations regarding Rays shortstop Wander Franco have coincided with an awkward team giveaway over the weekend.
A user on Twitter raised concerns about Franco dating a 14-year-old, which led to his absence from the Rays lineup.
The team claims it was merely a coincidence and that Franco had a day off.

Interestingly, the giveaway for that day was a Franco Rays hat specifically for fans aged 14 or under.

The organization acknowledges the speculation surrounding their All-Star shortstop and has stated that it is aware of the situation.
It’s worth noting that Franco signed an 11-year extension with the team in 2021.
