During the Minnesota Vikings’ preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, NFL fans found amusement in the attire of Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Although Cousins did not play, he was mostly dressed in full uniform, except for his pads.
The sight of a quarterback in complete gear but without pads was unconventional and prompted comments on NFL Twitter.

In the game, quarterbacks Nick Mullens and Jaren Hall took the field for the Vikings, but it was Seattle’s backup, Drew Lock, who saw most of the action, throwing for 191 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in the Seahawks’ 24-13 victory.
Despite leading the Vikings to 13 wins and the NFC North division title in the previous season, Cousins did not receive a contract extension this year. As a result, he will complete the 2023 season without a new deal, positioning himself for a potential lucrative contract next year.
In the 2022 season, the 35-year-old Cousins had an impressive performance, completing 65.9 percent of his pass attempts for 4,547 yards and 29 touchdowns, with 14 interceptions. However, the Vikings’ promising season was cut short with a disappointing playoff loss to the New York Giants during Super Wild Card Weekend.
The Vikings will kick off their 2023 season with a home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 10th.
