Aaron Rodgers, who recently joined the New York Jets after a successful stint with the Green Bay Packers, may have some concerns after reports from the Jets’ training camp.
Despite receiving praise during the off-season, Rodgers is now facing a potential issue with his new team. Previously, Rodgers had spent his entire 18-year career with the Packers at Lambeau Field before moving to MetLife Stadium.
Now, alongside Jets head coach Robert Saleh, Rodgers aims to lead the team to the post-season in his first year with the franchise. However, worries have arisen from the latest training camp practice. ESPN reported that during Wednesday’s practice session, Rodgers was sacked twice due to a lack of protection from his offensive line.
The report suggests that pass protection was a recurring problem throughout the day for Rodgers and the Jets.
#Jets notes from joint practice with #Panthers:
* Pass protection was an issue all day. Rodgers was "sacked" at least 2 times and pressured on a few other dropbacks. OLB Brian Burns was a problem, especially for LT Max Mitchell. Two-minute drive sputtered b/o poor pass pro…

During a joint training camp with the Carolina Panthers, the Jets faced some challenges as Carolina linebacker Brian Burns put pressure on Rodgers, making it difficult for him to complete passes.
Even Jets left tackle Max Mitchell had his struggles. However, the report also highlighted some positive aspects. Despite the difficulties, Rodgers managed to finish the session with an 11-14 pass completion record, which was considered a decent performance for the 39-year-old quarterback.
Additionally, Allen Lazard, Rodgers’ teammate and former Green Bay player, had a productive day, making three receptions and scoring a touchdown during an 11v11 session. Lazard was one of several players who followed Rodgers in leaving Green Bay and joining the Jets. Notably, Randall Cobb and Adrian Amos also made the move, while Billy Turner and Tim Boyle reunited with Rodgers, having previously played with him in Wisconsin.
Currently, Rodgers and his team are in the final stages of pre-season training, gearing up for the 2023 NFL regular season.
It is worth mentioning that Rodgers did not participate in the Hall of Fame game against the Cleveland Browns on August 3.
