Daniel Jones answered numerous questions about his performance on the field last season.
While many doubt his potential to be one of the league’s top quarterbacks, there is one individual who believes in him. Tiki Barber, former New York Giants running back, recently expressed his confidence in Jones, stating that he has the capability to be among the top five quarterbacks in the league.
“Daniel Jones can be a top-five quarterback. I really believe that,” Barber said on WFAN radio. “Daniel Jones is paid to be a top-five quarterback right now. He has the ability.”

Adding to this, Barber mentioned that Jones is currently being compensated as a top-five quarterback.

In the offseason, the Giants signed Jones to a lucrative four-year deal worth $160 million, inclusive of various incentives. Ian Rapoport reported that the contract entails $35 million in additional incentives, $82 million over the first two years, and a first-year salary cap of $19 million. During the 2022 regular season, Jones threw for 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Additionally, he showcased his rushing abilities by accumulating 708 yards and scoring seven rushing touchdowns. His contributions played a crucial role in helping the team make it to the playoffs and securing a victory over the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round.
To advance further in the playoffs, Jones will need to perform at the level of a top-five quarterback.
Fortunately, with the return of Saquon Barkley, who signed a one-year deal, the team has taken a significant step towards achieving that goal.
