Cheaters never win and winners never cheat.
PGA Canada Tour golfer Justin Doeden made a public admission on Monday, acknowledging that he had cheated on his scorecard during the Ottawa Open over the weekend.
As a result, Doeden withdrew from the event, and tournament officials launched an investigation into his score.
He took to Twitter to express remorse for his actions, admitting that this was the biggest mistake he had made and apologizing to his sponsors, competitors, family, and himself.

The issue with his scorecard was initially noticed by Monday Q Info, which revealed that Doeden had signed a card indicating a seven on the 18th hole, despite actually scoring a five. Playing partners brought this discrepancy to the attention of tournament officials, who discovered that the score had been altered.
The PGA Tour Canada confirmed that they were investigating the alleged cheating but did not anticipate making a formal announcement.
Doeden, a former Minnesota Golden Gophers standout, has been a consistent presence on the PGA Tour Canada circuit since 2018, participating in 44 tournaments, making 22 cuts, and achieving top-five finishes on three occasions.
