Justin Jefferson is at the very top.
During the 1990s, being selected for the All-Madden Team was a highly esteemed achievement for the NFL’s top players, as it was determined by the revered Oakland Raiders coach and renowned sports commentator, John Madden.
However, as the popularity and influence of the gaming industry grew, it became evident that a player’s rating in Madden NFL, Madden’s groundbreaking video game, carried equal prestige among players, the media, and sports fans.
While some NFL Hall of Famers such as Jerry Rice, Deion Sanders, and Barry Sanders attained membership in the “100 Overall Club,” a 99 rating is universally acknowledged as the highest possible score a player can achieve, based on their attributes, intangibles, athleticism, and previous season’s stats.
Last season, Travis Kelce and DaVonte Adams were recognized as members of the “99 Club,” along with Aaron Donald, who has obtained this honor for an impressive six consecutive years.
On Monday, EA Sports announced that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has become the first member of the “99 Club” in this year’s Madden 24 game.

In the previous year, this 6’1″ wide receiver broke the team record with an astounding 1,809 receiving yards (from 98 catches), a feat that even Chris Carter and Randy Moss, both Hall of Famers who played for the same team in the 1990s, were unable to achieve.
EA Sports celebrated this achievement by sharing a special video featuring Jefferson on their Twitter platform.
The following day, EA Sports added Aaron Donald, the Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman, to the esteemed “99 Club,” extending his remarkable streak to seven years.
A player’s Madden rating is determined by the “Madden NFL Rating Adjusters,” a team that works closely with each franchise to evaluate the overall abilities of players during live games.
