Looks like Jaylen Brown will be a Celtic for a long time coming.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Boston Celtics’ star player Jaylen Brown is set to sign the most lucrative contract in NBA history.
The Celtics and Brown are expected to reach an agreement worth up to $304 million, surpassing all previous records.
Negotiations are still ongoing, with discussions taking place between Brown, his agent, and Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens.
The final year of the deal could see Brown earning $70 million.
Additionally, the contract terms may include trade kickers, player option years, and payment schedules.

As Brown prepares to embark on Players’ Association business overseas, talks are expected to resume upon his return. The Celtics’ decision to retain Brown comes after their fifth Eastern Conference Finals appearance in seven years.
Despite falling short of an NBA Championship this year, the team decided to shake up their core, trading Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies and acquiring Kristaps Porzingis from the Washington Wizards in a three-team trade. Brown had an impressive season, averaging a career-high 26.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game.
He also shot 33.5% from beyond the arc and a career-best 49.1% from the field.
With two All-Star selections under his belt, Brown’s career average stands at 17.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
