The 76ers took to social media on Saturday morning to wish All-Star guard James Harden a happy birthday.
Despite the strained relationship between Harden and the team, the 76ers kept their message brief.

“This should smooth things over,” Ryan Glasspiegel posted.
“This organization is hilarious,” Sean Barnard wrote.
Harden has been vocal about his desire to leave Philadelphia, even going as far as criticizing 76ers president Daryl Morey, calling him a “liar” during a recent event in China.
As a result, Harden faced a $100,000 fine from the NBA.
Despite these tensions, the 76ers are still treating Harden as an important member of the organization, evident in their birthday post.
However, many in the sports world found the gesture somewhat ironic.
Although Harden had hoped to be traded to the Clippers, he ultimately exercised his player option for the 2023-24 season.
It remains to be seen if any reconciliation can occur between Harden and the 76ers, though it is clear that this birthday post alone will not be the catalyst for it.
