The NBA Playoffs are heating up!
The Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks are reigniting their rivalry in the first round of the NBA playoffs, following the 76ers’ narrow victory over the Miami Heat (105-104) in the play-in tournament.
76ers backup center Paul Reed expressed his enthusiasm for the matchup, noting the team’s preference for facing the Knicks. “We ain’t ducking no smoke, but yeah, we wanted the Knicks matchup, of course,” Reed said, as first reported by CBS Sports.
“That’s the easier team I guess, but you know it’s going to be fun, we match up pretty well. They got a great guard, we got a great guard, we also got Joel, MVP, so like you said earlier, he’s one of the most unstoppable guys in the league right now. They’re gonna have to send triple teams, and he’s gonna get everybody else involved.”

This candid admission from Reed could become a focal point for fans and analysts, particularly if the 76ers are upset in this series. Entering as underdogs, the 76ers are poised to prove their mettle in what promises to be a thrilling playoff battle.
The series kicks off with Game 1 on Monday night at Madison Square Garden, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
