The San Francisco 49ers faced a disruption in their pre-Super Bowl LVIII preparations due to a fire alarm incident at their team hotel in Las Vegas.
The alarm sounded off early Thursday morning at the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, where the team was lodged ahead of their crucial match against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Although initially reported to have lasted around 10 minutes, 49ers long snapper Taybor Pepper revealed it actually persisted for 18 minutes, humorously quipping, “18 mins but who’s counting lmao.”

Fortunately, the alarm turned out to be a false alarm, sparing guests from evacuation. The hotel’s security manager assured that engineering was investigating the cause and anticipated no further disruptions.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan noted that he and his coaching staff were already up and about when the incident occurred, while players jokingly grumbled about the disturbance.
Despite this minor setback, the 49ers have ample time to recuperate before Sunday’s game. However, the fire alarm episode wasn’t the team’s sole hiccup during their stay in Las Vegas.
