On Tuesday, Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily, submitted a petition to the Travis County District Court regarding the possible misappropriation of $12 million.
The couple wants to understand the location and utilization of the $12 million, which was invested by an Austin firm where their family members are employed.
According to KXAN, the document stated, “Petitioners are unaware whether their funds have been appropriately and prudently invested, have been stolen or misused, or fall somewhere in between.”
Currently, no legal action has been taken.
Baker and Emily solely desire information regarding the whereabouts of their money.
The filing clarified that it is too early to determine the possibility of a lawsuit.

The document stated, “At this time, the Petitioners have been denied access to the required information and documents necessary to assess if their assets have been misappropriated.”
The requested firms, namely Camwood Capital Management Group, Camwood Ventures, Texas Contract Manufacturing Group, Unitech, Apex Machining, and Lor-Van, have been asked to provide their financial records from 2018 to 2023.
It remains to be seen if the Mayfield family will acquire the transparency they seek.
