During this year’s ESPYs, Pat McAfee, one of the presenters, took the opportunity to show his support for Damar Hamlin.
McAfee commended Hamlin for his recovery from an incident of commotio cordis during a game earlier in the year.
He described the situation as one of the most inspirational moments in human history and expressed his gratitude for Hamlin’s presence at the event.
McAfee also criticized Skip Bayless for his insensitive tweet regarding the incident.

He recounted how viewers at home, including himself, feared for the worst while watching the situation unfold during “Monday Night Football.”
In contrast, Bayless seemingly prioritized playoff implications over the injured player’s well-being, stating, “Get that dead body off the field.”
McAfee called out Bayless directly, urging him to delete the tweet and expressing his disappointment with the incident.’
