Will Shohei Ohtani actually get traded before the deadline?
It now appears highly likely that All-Star player Shohei Ohtani will be traded before his contract with the Los Angeles Angels expires.
ESPN MLB insider Buster Olney suggests that the New York Yankees may be the frontrunner to acquire Ohtani if the Angels decide to make him available.
Olney points out that the Yankees seem to be the most motivated team due to their current roster of talented players in their prime, like Gerrit Cole, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton.
“You bring in Ohtani, suddenly the Yankees rotation with him involved looks so strong. Ohtani hitting in Yankee Stadium, which favors left-handed sluggers, that’s something I’m sure the Yankees would be willing to pay for if Ohtani is made available by the Angels.”

Acquiring Ohtani would strengthen their rotation and utilize Yankee Stadium’s favorability for left-handed hitters.
The Yankees’ financial resources make it possible for them to afford any player’s contract, but it remains to be seen if they have the assets that the Angels would desire in a trade.
Additionally, it is worth considering whether the Angels would be hesitant to trade Ohtani to a team within the American League when there are competitive National League teams like the New York Mets or Los Angeles Dodgers who could also meet his contract demands.
The future is uncertain, but we await the outcome: Will Ohtani be traded? And if so, will he join the Yankees? If he doesn’t get traded there’s one team that’s favored to sign him.
Can’t wait to see how this plays out.
