CeeDee Lamb is about to become a very wealthy man.
There is speculation that the Dallas Cowboys are willing to spend a significant amount on a contract extension for CeeDee Lamb.
As a top priority for the team, the wide receiver was selected 17th overall in the 2020 draft and has proven himself with impressive statistics and two Pro Bowl selections.
According to The Athletic’s John Machota, the Cowboys are considering an extension worth anywhere between $25 million and $30 million.
There are several notable players in position to get contract extensions from the Cowboys in the near future. The list includes, in alphabetical order, CB Trevon Diggs, WR CeeDee Lamb, LB/DE Micah Parsons, RB Tony Pollard, QB Dak Prescott and OT Terence Steele.
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said a couple of weeks ago that they would “like to get one, two, three of these guys signed.”

This places Lamb just behind Dak Prescott in terms of contract importance.
The Cowboys are determined to keep Lamb and are willing to compete with the highest-paid wide receivers in the league, such as Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins.
Currently, Lamb is still on his rookie deal earning $4.5 million next season.
Although the team has exercised his fifth-year option, which would bring in $18 million, this amount pales in comparison to what he could earn in the open market.
