Shannon Sharpe got emotional as he bid his farewell to Skip Bayless on his final ‘Undisputed’ show.
The former NFL star found himself overcome with emotion as he thanked Bayless for the opportunity to join the immensely popular FS1 show back in 2016.
With a tissue in hand, Sharpe repeatedly wiped away tears while conveying his heartfelt appreciation to Bayless.

“I’m here because of you,” Sharpe said to Bayless, fighting back tears. “You’ve allowed me to share the stage with you. You allowed me to share the platform.”
“The opportunity that you gave me,” Sharpe continued, “to become what I became, I’m forever indebted to you. I’ll never forget what you did for me. You helped me grow more than you’ll ever know.”
Even Bayless found himself choked up as he listened to Sharpe’s farewell. Skip referred to the former Denver Broncos tight end as “a worthy adversary” and expressed his deep affection for him.
“This is a happy-sad moment for me,” Bayless said. “Because I look forward to your next great achievement — and it is coming.”
Last month, it was announced that Shannon Sharpe would be departing the show after a successful seven-year partnership with Bayless. The reasons behind their separation remain undisclosed.
As of now, there is no information regarding Sharpe’s replacement or his future endeavors, although he is expected to continue hosting his highly acclaimed “Club Shay Shay” podcast in the interim.
