Sean McDermott and Stefon Diggs’ agent are playing a game of he said, he said.
On the first day of mandatory minicamp for the Buffalo Bills, star wide receiver Stefon Diggs was notably absent, causing concern for head coach Sean McDermott.
“When players miss — in particular a player of Stef’s caliber — you’d love to have that player here,” McDermott said.
All other Bills players were in attendance, McDermott said.
However, Diggs’ agent, Adisa Bakari, later revealed that he was already in Buffalo, having arrived on Monday and even meeting with McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane.
Stefon Diggs’ agent, Adisa Bakari, said his client is in Buffalo, has been in Buffalo since yesterday morning, took his physical, met with the head coach and GM the past two days and the Pro-Bowl WR “will be there for the entirety of the minicamp.”

Despite leaving practice early on both days, Diggs is expected to participate in the entirety of minicamp.
Diggs had an outstanding season in 2022, accounting for nearly 30% of the Bills’ receptions and setting a career-high in touchdowns. He has played for Buffalo for three seasons, and recently signed a lucrative six-year extension.
Though there is no evidence to suggest he wants to leave, trading Diggs would result in significant dead cap space for the Bills.
