Rumor: Ja Morant’s Mom is the Reason He’s About That Gun Toting Life

Oh Mother. Ja Morant’s mom may be the reason he’s been gun toting.

Ja Morant’s recent social media activity prompted Tennessee authorities to conduct a welfare check, per TMZ. However, a spokesperson from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Morant was fine. Police were informed that he was just taking a break from social media.

The NBA star had posted a series of photos on his Instagram story. These first expressed love for his family members. They ended with a photo of himself captioned “bye.”

Morant quickly deleted the posts, leading to fans speculating about their meaning. It is unclear if someone had alerted law enforcement. The Grizzlies player is currently dealing with the NBA’s investigation following a video that appeared to show him holding a gun.

As a result, Ja Morant has been suspended from all team activities. This is not his first gun-related incident. And now we have a theory on why Ja is the way he is, considering he didn’t grow up living that “life.”

Ja Morant Showed up to Sneaker Store With Gun

According to Corey Holcomb, Ja Morant’s mom was at a sneaker store and got into an argument with the salesperson. Allegedly, she called Ja who came up to the store with some friends and chased the sales boy to the back with a gun.

Listen to Corey tell the story at the 33:40 mark:

In March, he was suspended for eight games without pay after live streaming from a strip club with someone else’s gun. Morant has stated that the counseling he underwent in Florida was related to managing stress rather than an alcohol problem.

As this marks Morant’s second incident of this nature, he could face a significant suspension at the start of next season. The NBA star recently issued a statement taking full responsibility for his actions and acknowledging that he has disappointed those who have supported him.

Additionally, he is currently being sued by a high schooler who alleges that Morant punched him during a pickup game and flashed a gun afterward. Morant’s endorsement deals with Nike and Powerade also appear uncertain. Powerade recently pulled an advertisement featuring him while Nike removed his signature shoes from their site.

If Ja’s mom is sending her son off to do harm to others, please stop.
