Bucs Superstar Receiver Mike Evans Involved in Wild Trade Scenario

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly considering trading their franchise player, Mike Evans, to a top AFC contender due to low expectations for the upcoming 2023 NFL season following Tom Brady’s retirement.

Evans, who is turning 30 in August and entering the final year of his contract, has been the subject of trade rumors in recent months.

Cory Woodroof, writer for For The Win, proposed a massive trade involving the Ravens. In this scenario, the Ravens give up WR Devin Duvernay and a 2024 second-round draft choice for Evans. The Ravens have been focusing on improving their passing game. This is evidenced by the signing of Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor in free agency.

“The Bucs could save $14.6 million for 2023 and more in the future by trading Evans after June 1, a move that certainly would make snagging the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft all the easier.

The Ravens have added wideouts in Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers this offseason, and the team drafted Rashod Bateman in 2021. However, the team lacks a true No. 1 for its offense unless Flowers or Bateman breaks out this fall.”

Mike Evans has achieved over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his nine NFL seasons.

While the trade has yet to be even considered, the Ravens offense could certainly benefit from having Evans.
