Davante Adams Explains Exactly How He Tried to Recruit Aaron Rodgers to the Raiders

Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders expressed his desire to have Aaron Rodgers join his team, but it did not come to fruition. Despite the distance, Adams tried his best to convince Rodgers to leave the Green Bay Packers for the Raiders. However, Rodgers ultimately landed with the New York Jets, following in the footsteps of Brett Favre.

Adams, who enjoyed a successful season without Rodgers, acknowledges that business is business and decisions must be made. Though he still misses his friend, he respects the outcome. Adams and Rodgers bonded over golf in Vegas during their free time, and Adams admits to attempting to talk shop with Rodgers. Nevertheless, their attempts were unsuccessful.

“I would even go as far as trying to make it happen,” Adams told The Ringer. “Having that distance, and time away, kind of made me miss him.

“I don’t take it to heart,” Adams said of Rodgers not ending up in Las Vegas. “It is what it is. I left. You gotta make your decisions sometimes.”

Adams excelled on the field last season with Derek Carr and Jarrett Stidham throwing him the ball, proving he did not need Rodgers to perform well. With Adams thriving on a new contract in Vegas and Rodgers attempting to win one more Super Bowl in New York, the new arrangement could work out well for both players.
