Davante Adams Believes Last Season He Proved That He ‘Didn’t Need Aaron Rodgers’

Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders believes that his performance last season dispelled any notion that he was dependent on former teammate and quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Despite the dynamic partnership he shared with Rodgers during his first eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Adams seamlessly transitioned to the Raiders and led the NFL with 14 receiving touchdowns while amassing 1,516 receiving yards – only 37 yards short of his career high.

According to Adams, “A quarterback doesn’t make me. … I make me.” He is confident that his strong performance last season proves that he does not have to rely on Rodgers or anyone else for success. Adams achieved Pro Bowl status five consecutive times from 2017 to 2021, and that trend continued in 2022 after joining the Raiders.

He will now team up with veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo after previously catching passes from the likes of Rodgers and Derek Carr over the past two seasons.
