There’s a buzz on social media suggesting Marvin Harrison Jr., the standout wide receiver from Ohio State, might be intentionally lowering his draft stock to join the Chicago Bears, who hold the ninth pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
According to Bears insider Erik Lambert, Harrison is “quietly dropping his draft stock.”
Interestingly, Harrison did not participate in the Ohio State Pro Day nor the NFL Combine, further fueling speculation about his intentions.
He was a no-show for the interview session at the combine, leaving reporters waiting and without explanation, as an NFL combine official eventually informed the press that Harrison would not be speaking, without providing further details.

The allure of playing for the Chicago Bears might be strong for Harrison, especially as they are expected to draft standout quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick. Having a talented quarterback like Williams could provide a significant boost to Harrison’s potential impact in the NFL.
Marvin Harrison Jr. is regarded as the top receiver in the draft and one of the best overall players available. However, securing him could be a challenge for the Bears. The Arizona Cardinals, holding the fourth pick, are reportedly interested in Harrison and it would likely take a substantial offer, possibly including a 2025 first-round pick, to persuade them to trade away their chance to draft him.
Last season, Harrison’s performance was stellar, amassing 1,211 yards on 67 receptions with 14 touchdowns, showcasing why any team would be eager to have him. The unfolding dynamics of the draft and Harrison’s potential strategic maneuvering will be closely watched by NFL fans and teams alike.
